The appointment of Suresh Ramaswamy will help Qubole scale its multi-tenant SaaS platform and develop highly responsive big data platforms to cater to industry demands.
Qubole, the big data-as-a-service company, today announced that it has appointed Suresh Ramaswamy as Qubole’s Head of Web Services. In this role, Suresh will help Qubole scale the web services division which engineers and operates its multi-tenant platform to cater to a rapidly growing customer base across the world. As customers look to Qubole to provide a secure, stable, and highly responsive solution to their analytics needs, Suresh’s leadership will play a critical role in Qubole’s commitment to helping businesses meet their custom big data requirements. Suresh will report directly to Joydeep Sen Sarma, Co-Founder, and Head, Qubole India, while helping Qubole expand its services to more AWS regions as well as expand its expertise on a host of other cloud platforms.

Suresh brings more than 2 decades of industry experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, and managing large-scale and complex software systems. At Yahoo, he led a team providing large-scale data analytics for various Yahoo platforms. Prior to taking on his current role with Qubole, Suresh was the India engineering lead for the mint.com (Intuit) team responsible for their migration to AWS.

This announcement comes on the heels of the appointment of Andrew Daniels, Qubole’s first Chief Information Security Officer and vice president of security, compliance, and privacy. Earlier in 2016, Qubole also announced a $30 million Series C funding round to help extend product leadership and expand customer acquisition in the APAC and EU regions. India has emerged as a key market with the growth of the Indian e-commerce industry and Digital India initiatives.
