Recently completed Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 report provides independent validation of Qubole’s stringent security practices.
If you’re already using the Qubole Data Service (QDS) or if you’re evaluating our award-winning big data in the cloud platform, you’ll be pleased to know that Qubole has successfully completed the SOC 2 Type II examination. The report generated from this extensive evaluation was conducted by an American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) accredited firm that attests that Qubole meets stringent guidelines for data security.
SOC 2 reports are designed to provide information and assurances that the service delivery processes and controls used by a SaaS provider meet certain high standards and guidelines for data security, confidentiality and availability.
There are two types of SOC 2 reports: Type I and Type II. The Type I report purely acknowledges that the controls a company says it is using are suitable, but no actual evaluation is conducted to verify that the organization is using those controls or that they’re effective. The Type II report, on the other hand, requires a thorough examination by an independent auditing firm and attests that the controls are in place and effective.
We opted for the much more rigorous Type II report because security is of the utmost importance to us and to our many clients who entrust us to power their big data in the cloud initiatives. Customers are processing more than 650 petabytes a month on QDS. Whether they’re using Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine, Microsoft Azure, we help them extract value out of their big data while enabling their operations teams to be nimble and adaptive to their users’ needs—securely.
Ultimately, our mission is to facilitate self-service access to data and insights enterprise-wide while at the same time keeping data protected and enhancing the already strong security of the major cloud platforms
