With Qubole on AWS, any size organization can become data-driven with self-service access to the latest big data technologies
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 1, 2015—Qubole, the big data-as-a-service company founded by the team that developed Facebook’s data infrastructure, today announced it is now an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Technology Partner.
Qubole’s self-service platform for big data analytics runs on AWS. It is a fully managed big data offering that leverages the latest open source technologies, such as Apache Hadoop, Hive, Presto, and Spark, to provide a comprehensive cloud-based data analytics platform complete with enterprise security features, an easy-to-use UI, and built-in data governance.
The AWS Partner Network (APN) is a global partner program, focused on helping partners build a successful AWS-based business by providing business, technical, marketing, and go-to-market support. As an APN Advanced Technology Partner, Qubole has access to a variety of tools, training, and support to further enhance the company’s data platform. To achieve Advanced Technology Partner status, companies must meet stringent requirements and pass an AWS technical review.
To help accelerate the adoption of big data tools running on the AWS Cloud, Qubole is launching a promotion for AWS users in which AWS will cover two weeks of AWS usage for Proofs-of-Concept based on eligibility. Applications are considered on a rolling basis beginning today.
Qubole enables companies like Pinterest, Station X, and Ola Cabs, who have built their data infrastructures on AWS to use Qubole for data analytics. These customers are processing more than 175 petabytes of data a month using Qubole.
TubeMogul, for example, had demanded data analytics across the organization and needed to make data easily accessible to non-engineers. It’s using Qubole on AWS to process and analyze more than 15 petabytes of log data daily and often has as many as 30 users running queries simultaneously.
“AWS is paving the way to the cloud for the business world, and it provides valuable support for its ecosystem of solution providers like Qubole who build innovative services on AWS,” said Ashish Thusoo, co-founder and CEO of Qubole. “We’re pleased to join the group of software companies that have met the requirements for advanced status in the AWS Partner Program. It means our customers can be confident our big data-as-a-service platform is optimized for AWS and will benefit from the additional support provided to advanced-level partners.”
